As part of our Sonne Scholarship initiative, we recently visited SAID Academy, a school who have students currently on our Sonne Scholarship financial support. This visit was all about reconnecting, encouraging, and celebrating their journey with us alongside.
We were joined by six amazing volunteers, some nurses, teachers, tech professionals and entrepreneurs, they are thriving in their careers. They spent time with the students, shared their personal stories, and talked about the challenges and successes they’ve experienced along the way. Their words were real and relatable, a reminder to the kids that dreams are possible with hard work and support.
The students were excited and curious, asking questions and opening about their own aspirations. After the talks, we split everyone into small groups with the volunteers leading separate groups. This gave the students a chance to connect more personally, ask more questions, and just talk openly in a smaller setting.
It was a simple but powerful day. Full of laughter, thoughtful conversations, and moments that remind all of us why we do what we do. Watching the kids light up with hope and excitement was the highlight and a reminder that support goes beyond just funding education. It’s also about showing up, sharing stories, and walking the journey with them.
We left SAID Academy with full hearts and a renewed sense of purpose. The future is bright and we’re grateful to be part of their journey.
We are open to volunteers who would like to help mentor these kids and help shape their career paths.
